About Kornelia

Calm, experienced newborn care for the first days, weeks and months after birth

I have spent many years supporting mothers, newborn babies and families during the most delicate time after birth.

My work is not about walking in and changing everything straight away. When I arrive, my first step is to calm the situation down. I sit with the mother, I listen, I observe the baby, and I ask what she needs from that night or that day.

I am routine-based, but I follow the baby’s natural rhythm. I read the baby’s cues and adjust the sleep, feeding and day-to-night pattern around what the baby and family actually need.

I understand postpartum from both sides. I have supported many mothers through the first days, weeks and months after birth, but I have also been the mother recovering, exhausted, frightened, unable to sleep even when the baby was next to me, and trying to understand what was happening to my own body and mind.

That is why I do not come into a home with judgement. I come in with experience, calm, and the ability to notice the small details that can change everything.

I notice the small things

The room, the timing, the feeding, the baby’s cues, the mother’s breathing, the mood in the home.

Small details matter with newborns, and often those little details are what help the baby settle and the mother feel more confident again.

I support the mother first

If the mother is tense, exhausted or overwhelmed, the baby feels it. My first priority is to help the mother feel a little more like herself, even if that starts with 20 minutes where she does not need to actively listen for every sound the baby makes.

I am present without taking over

I am calm, direct, private and approachable. I can be chatty when a mother needs to talk, and quiet when the family needs space. I like to explore ideas with parents and help mothers feel confident in their own choices of mothering and parenting.

The right kind of support

I work best with families who welcome calm, experienced guidance and want practical structure without losing the warmth of their home.

My role is to support the baby, the mother and the family rhythm around them. I can be there in real time, when questions come up, when the baby is unsettled, when the night feels long, or when a mother simply needs someone experienced beside her.

Many families contact me again when they are expecting another baby. The trust is already there. They know how I work, what I bring into their home, and how different those early weeks can feel with experienced support. That means a lot to me, because this work is personal.
