I have never cared for a newborn before. Will you teach me without making me feel judged?
Absolutely.
A big part of my clients are first-time parents. They want the best care for themselves and their baby because no one gives you those firsts back.
I am there to help you feel confident, not judged. I will show you how to hold, wind, settle, feed, change, and understand your baby in a way that feels calm and practical.
Becoming a parent for the first time is a whole new role. You are not expected to know everything just because the baby is here.
We will practise together. I will guide you, educate you, and help make the hard moments feel less scary, and sometimes even a little bit funny.
It is a massive privilege to be part of those first days and weeks.
Will I still feel like the mother if you are helping so much?
Yes. No one replaces the mother.
I can be as involved as much or as little as you want me to be.
If you want the baby with you during the day, on your chest, next to you, or close by for those little first-week snoozes, that is your time. I will not take that away from you.
My role is to support you, not overstep your bonding, your mothering, or your relationship with your baby.
I will also watch for the moments where you may need help before you even ask for it, but in a calm way, without pressure.
Sometimes new mothers push themselves because of expectations, opinions, or the idea that they should be doing everything. I will gently remind you what matters: your recovery, your baby, your bond, and your ability to enjoy these early moments without running yourself into the ground.
Can you help me feel confident before you leave?
Yes. I walk into a booking knowing that one day I will leave, and when I leave, I want you to feel confident with your baby.
I will show you, guide you, and then let you practise. You learn best when you practise.
Sometimes during the day it may feel like I am not hovering around the baby as much as you expected, but that is often intentional. I want you to learn your baby while I am still there, close enough to step in if you need me.
For longer bookings, I usually leave notes on what to expect after I leave, what may change over the next few weeks, and how to deal with those changes in a simple way.
And if something comes up later, I am usually only a message away. I love hearing from previous clients and knowing how the little one is doing.
Can you help after a C-section?
Yes. I personally had a C-section, so I understand that recovery not only professionally, but also firsthand.
I have supported many mothers after planned C-sections, emergency C-sections, difficult recoveries, blood loss, and twin or multiple births.
After a C-section, even simple things like lifting the baby, getting out of bed, feeding, changing, and resting can feel very different.
I can help with the baby while also keeping the mother’s recovery in mind.
